ABOUT THE FIRM
Eastside Environmental Pros (EEP) is a team of wetland, stream, and wildlife ecologists working in King County and Snohomish County. We evaluate natural resources (wetlands, streams, lakes, shorelines, and wildlife/fish habitat) to determine what constraints they have on a proposed development.
THE BEGINNING
Kellen Maloney founded Eastside Environmental Pros, Inc. to provide environmental consulting services for property owners throughout King and Snohomish County. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, a research scholarship, and his research group was awarded $50,000 of grant funding from King County for environmental research projects.
Kellen then attained a certificate of Wetland Science and Management from the University of Washington and has since gone on to achieve numerous industry-specific certifications from the Department of Ecology, including:
- Using the Revised Washington State Rating System in Western Washington;
- Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) Determination;
- Using Field Indicators for Hydric Soils; and
- The Credit-Debit Mitigation method
In his career, Kellen has worked on a range of property sizes, from under 1 acre, to several hundred acres. He has also worked in a variety of industries in other consulting firms, with past Clients including large social media companies, software companies, and prominent homebuilders, and single-family homeowners.
